Gerry Kievit from Sherwood Park, Alberta, is a part-time maker who has been making knives since 1996. He makes mostly fixed blades such as hunters, fillet, and kitchen knives. He uses the stock removal method and likes most natural handle materials.

The Western Canada Knife Association was formed in June of 2000 when a group of knife enthusiasts got together in Kamloops, BC, Canada.
